What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury or disease by correcting and maximising the body's own natural healing mechanisms. Physiotherapists primarily use their hands to help this process by working directly on the body tissues concerned. Physiotherapists undergo an intense 4 year full time degree at University. Chartered Physiotherapist measure their clinical effectiveness by the same standards applied to other health care professionals, including Doctors and Nurses.
Physiotherapy can help with any bone, joint or muscle discomfort. Some common conditions treated are: - Neck and back pain.
- Whiplash
- Headaches
- Frozen shoulder
- Tennis elbow
- Repetitive strain injury
- Sports injuries
- Rehabilitation pre/post orthopaedic surgery
